Q: How do I make my summer memorable?

2 min

Don’t let this summer pass you by! Make it memorable with these ideas, to try out everything new you didn’t know you wanted to.

Dear Ellie,

What are some ways to make a memorable summer?

I don’t want to let another season pass me by without making an effort to enjoy it.

Caitlyn, today’s Dear Ellie columnist, has all kinds of clarity for us:

Dear Unforgettable One,

The great Hannah Montana once said, “Life’s what you make it, so let’s make it rock”, and I feel like that really encompasses the answer to your question.

If you want to make the summer memorable, you have to know what will be memorable to you.

What are things you like and dislike? For some people going on a beautiful hike would be memorable – others would absolutely hate it, if they don’t like the outdoors.

So, memorable moments will definitely depend on who you are as a person, put here’s a few general ideas that I think will help!

Summer time!

First things first, be open to new experiences. That is a major key in making memories stand out.

So, the first suggestion on my list is to learn something completely new. If you’re near an ocean or beach and you’ve only ever enjoyed sun bathing – try to surf!

Do you tend to enjoy staying in and reading? Go out to a beautiful area and take a stab at painting it!

By no means do you have to stick to these activities, just get out their and try something you’ve never done before! I guarantee you’ll remember it 😉

Next on the ‘new’ list

For the next tip, I suggest to go somewhere you’ve never been before. And no, this doesn’t entail jetting off on a plane to Europe. Unless that will be memorable for you.

It could be as simple as a new lake, hike, coffee shop, bookstore, etc. in your town that you’ve never visited! It could turn into your favorite hang out, and you would’ve never know about it.

This idea is one of my personal favorites. So there is an app that will record a one second clip every day. The thought behind this is to keep a clip of your happiest moment from each day to look back on and smile!

It’s hard to follow that one up, but I think the most effortless way sometimes to make a moment memorable is to simply relax.

Hang out by a pool with a drink in hand – that’s what I personally do best and most definitely remember it 😉

Now go out there girlfriend and make this summer one to remember. I set you up for success, now just go do it!
